Set Up a TON Wallet
To hold and use CYRUS tokens, you need a wallet that supports the TON blockchain. We recommend Tonkeeper — it’s the most popular self-custody TON wallet with over 10 million users, a clean interface, and strong security.
Your wallet is your identity on the TON blockchain. It holds your CYRUS tokens, signs transactions, and connects to dApps like cyrus.gold via TON Connect .
Option 1: Tonkeeper (Recommended)
Tonkeeper is a self-custody wallet — you control your private keys, not a company. It supports TON, Jettons (like CYRUS), NFTs, staking, and dApp connections via TON Connect.
Download
| Platform | Link |
|---|---|
| iOS | App Store |
| Android | Google Play |
| Chrome | Chrome Web Store |
| Firefox | Firefox Add-ons |
| Telegram | Available as @tonkeeper_bot |
Only download Tonkeeper from official sources listed above or from tonkeeper.com . Never install wallet apps from unofficial links.
Setup (Mobile)
Step 1 — Download and open Tonkeeper. Install from the App Store or Google Play. When you first open the app, you’ll see two options: Create New Wallet and Import Existing Wallet.
Step 2 — Create your wallet. Tap Create New Wallet. You’ll be asked to set a PIN code — this PIN is used to unlock the app and confirm transactions. Choose something strong but memorable.
Step 3 — Name your wallet. Give your wallet a name (e.g., “CYRUS Wallet” or “Main”). This is just for your own reference — you can rename it later.
Step 4 — Back up your recovery phrase. This is the most important step. Tonkeeper will show you a 24-word recovery phrase (also called a seed phrase). This is the only way to restore your wallet if you lose your phone, delete the app, or switch devices.
Write these 24 words on paper, in order. Do not take a screenshot. Do not save them in a notes app, email, or cloud storage. Malicious programs can scan for seed phrases on your device.
Step 5 — Verify your phrase. Tonkeeper will ask you to confirm several words from your phrase to make sure you wrote it down correctly.
Step 6 — Done. Your wallet is ready. You’ll see your TON address on the main screen — this is the address you’ll use to receive TON and CYRUS tokens.
Setup (Browser Extension)
- Visit tonkeeper.com and click the download link for your browser
- Install the extension and click the Tonkeeper icon in your toolbar
- Follow the same flow: Create wallet → Set PIN → Save recovery phrase → Verify
- Pin the extension to your toolbar for quick access
Multiple Wallets
Tonkeeper supports multiple wallets within one app. Tap your wallet name at the top → Add Wallet → Create New Wallet. This is useful for separating your CYRUS governance wallet from everyday spending.
Option 2: Telegram Wallet (@wallet)
The simplest way to start — a wallet built right into Telegram with no separate app needed.
- Open Telegram and search for @wallet
- Start the bot and tap Create Wallet
- Your wallet is created instantly — no seed phrase to manage
Note: This is a custodial wallet — Telegram holds the keys on your behalf. It’s convenient for small amounts and getting started quickly, but for full control over your CYRUS tokens, we recommend Tonkeeper.
When to use @wallet
- You want to start in under 30 seconds
- You’re holding a small amount
- You prefer not to manage a seed phrase
When to use Tonkeeper instead
- You want full control of your keys (self-custody)
- You’re holding a significant amount of CYRUS
- You want to participate in governance (staking)
- You want to connect to dApps via TON Connect
Option 3: MyTonWallet
MyTonWallet is another self-custody option with a browser extension and mobile app. It supports staking, Jettons, and TON Connect.
- Visit mytonwallet.io and install for your platform
- Click Create New Wallet
- Set a password and save your 24-word recovery phrase
- Your wallet is ready
Option 4: Hardware Wallet (Advanced)
For large holdings, consider a hardware wallet like SafePal or Ledger (via third-party TON apps). Hardware wallets store your keys on a physical device that never connects to the internet.
Understanding Your Wallet
What is a wallet address?
Your wallet address looks like this: EQD...abc. It’s your public identifier on the TON blockchain — like an email address. You can share it freely. Anyone can send you TON or tokens, but only you (with your private key) can send from it.
What is a recovery phrase?
Your 24-word recovery phrase is your wallet. Anyone who has these words has full access to your funds. The phrase works across all TON wallets — you can restore a Tonkeeper wallet in MyTonWallet and vice versa using the same 24 words.
What is TON Connect?
TON Connect is the standard protocol for connecting your wallet to dApps on TON. When you visit cyrus.gold and click “Connect Wallet,” your wallet app will ask you to approve the connection. The dApp can then request transactions (which you must approve individually), but it never has access to your private keys or seed phrase.
Security Checklist
- Recovery phrase written on paper (not digital)
- Stored in a safe, secure location (consider a fireproof safe)
- Second backup copy in a separate location
- PIN or biometric lock enabled on wallet app
- Phone lock screen enabled (PIN, fingerprint, or face)
- Wallet app downloaded from official source only
- Bookmark cyrus.gold to avoid phishing sites
If someone asks for your recovery phrase — whether they claim to be from CYRUS, Tonkeeper, or TON support — it’s a scam. No legitimate service will ever ask for it.
